My Milk Cow Brings All The Greys To The Farm: Signs (2002) - Nightmare on Film Street - A Horror Movie Podcast

My Milk Cow Brings All The Greys To The Farm: Signs (2002)

Released on 05/23/2024

We're talking M. Night Shyamalan's Signs (2002) this week on the Nightmare on Film Street horror movie podcast, and we're feeling the rural horror love. Join your horror hosts Kimmi and Jon as they dissect the emotions from the facts, and get down to the real meat of it; why would aliens who have a weakness to water wage war on a planet that's 80% wet?

We've got corn. We've got crop circles. We've got crackling baby monitors. We've got shadows on the roof. We've got... surprisingly few cows?

Signs (2002) stars Mel Gibson as Graham Hess, a former preacher turned farmer who's lost his faith after a family tragedy. Living on a Pennsylvania farm with his brother Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix) and his two kids, Morgan (Rory Culkin) and Bo (Abigail Breslin), Graham starts noticing some seriously weird stuff around his property. As the Hess family tries to figure out what's going on and fight off some not-very-persistent extraterrestrials (save for one that's got a personal vendetta to settle), they confront their deepest fears and find strength in each other.

So, grab your tinfoil hats and join us as we dive into the mystery and corn-filled madness of Signs (2002). We'll debate alien invasion logistics, question the tactical genius of water-phobic extraterrestrials, and maybe even throw in a few corn puns for good measure. No, we definitely will.

Sunglasses At Night: Blade (1998) - Nightmare on Film Street - A Horror Movie Podcast

Sunglasses At Night: Blade (1998)

Released on 05/09/2024

Vampires and sunglasses go together like cobwebs and creepy castles, but nobody that looks as cool wearing sunglasses at night as Wesley Snipes in Blade (1998).

Blade was the ultimate vampire hunter, hear to rid the world of the ultimate evil: scum-sucking vampire elites, feasting on the living, controlling the population, and gettin' freaky in their underground blood shower night clubs!

Something, Something, Haunted Mirrors: Amityville: A New Generation - Nightmare on Film Street - A Horror Movie Podcast

Something, Something, Haunted Mirrors: Amityville: A New Generation

Released on 04/11/2024

Haunted houses are scary and all, but you know what's really terrifying?? Haunted...mirrors! Join your horror hosts Jon & Kim as they kick off a double feature of haunted mirrors, beginning with Amityville: A New Generation.

Is still unclear whether the mirror is haunted by evil or a ghost, or just the image of the Amityville Horror house. To be honest, I don't think the movie itself knows what drives the mirror, but all we do know is that it somehow manages to make people dead. Hooray!

Horror Musicals! Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) - Nightmare on Film Street - A Horror Movie Podcast

Horror Musicals! Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

Released on 03/21/2024

On this week's episode of Nightmare on Film Street, we're finally ready to reveal a big secret.....we like musicals! But mostly only musicals filled with tragedy, and revenge, and buckets of blood. Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon as they break down Tim Burton's adaptation of the macabre musical classic, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007).

We're chatting about that killer barber chair/corpse delivery system, investigating that uncomfortable feeling you get watching Alan Richman portray a sinister villain, and biting our lips while trying not to sing all of our favorite tracks from this minor key bloodbath. Join ussssss...

Kooky King: The Lawnmower Man (1992) - Nightmare on Film Street - A Horror Movie Podcast

Kooky King: The Lawnmower Man (1992)

Released on 03/14/2024

Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon for a movie so kooky, so outlandish, and off-the-rails that Stephen King sued the studio to have his name taken off of it! Bow before an 8-bit Antichrist and quiver in pixelated terror at the sight of.....The Lawnmower Man (1992).

We're closing out our Kooky King double feature with a movie that tries really hard to take you to another plain of existence, but mostly just reminds you of bad Microsoft screensavers. It's a sci-fi joy ride where chimpanzees fistfight security guards, priests are burned alive by poorly rendered CGI hellfire, and bullies get their brains turned to mulch! Join ussssss...

Kooky King: Thinner (1996) - Nightmare on Film Street - A Horror Movie Podcast

Kooky King: Thinner (1996)

Released on 03/07/2024

Ain't no Stephen King like a kooky Stephen King! Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon for another silly-yet-serious, irreverent-although-enlightening, factually-inaccurate-but-still-super-fun edition of Nightmare on Film Street. This week, we're peeling back the curtain on the Richard Bachman mystery to discuss Stephen King's Thinner (1996).

Directed by Tom Holland (Child's Play), this cursed movie is a heck of a lot of fun. Lizard men! Cursed pies! People kissing corpses! Thinner is Kooky with a capital K, and a brilliant example of the twisted, unstoppable mind of The Master of Horror. Join ussssss...
