She buries her face in work, returning to her routine and work at the hospital, trying to get her mind off things. She finds one thing rather effective at doing that, tending to the comatose John Doe who has yet to be identified. When he eventually wakes up, he has no recollection of his past. Ellen finds talking to him refreshing, almost as if she’s ready to move on. Maybe 5 months is too soon, but that was for her to judge. John was a blank slate, a kind and considerate person she wished she’d met way before he lost his memory. But as with all things forgotten, sometimes they’re best left in the past…
