Overview

Publisher’s Weekly called this story “a chilling little piece of work.” I myself have always found it kind of merry. It was first published in the hardcover anthology NEW CONSTELLATIONS, edited by Thomas M. Disch and Charles Naylor.~~“‘Everyone grows a little melancholy at Christmas time’ – so goes the first line of Christmas in Watson Hollow, which hardly prepared me for the succession of deaths that follow, all victims of the Angel of Death (“a serious, stylish, nasty, demented and pranksterish sprit”') who swoops and sings and knocks 'em off right and left. The mythology of Christianity is already so loaded with inconsistency and absurdities that religious satire is usually limited to pointing a finger at past mistakes. But Jerrold Mundis, bless his black little heart, adds a few future kinks of his own clever device, which should shake you till your eyeballs spin.”- Richard Delap, Delap 's F&SF Review~~(1500 words)
