This is the FIRST in a series of shorts exploring the Zombie Noir genre with light elements of Zombie Punk. Zombie Noir - A genre mixing the pulp detective genre with the modern day zombie genre. Zombie Punk - A genre where zombies are used as technology in one form or another. THE APOCALYPSE has come and gone. The dead won't stay dead and the living struggle to survive. The dead have been put to work as slave labor while the citizens struggle with poverty, crime and the fear of returning from the grave. These are the CASE FILES of Detective Roy Sheppard, an ex-scout with a mysterious past. Rumors say he has "a way with the dead". He also has a way with women, booze and getting to the bottoms of things (more often than not, a woman or a bottle). Follow Detective Sheppard on his latest adventure as he investigates the case of. . . . THE REDHEAD AND THE DEAD SHEDS Detective Roy Sheppard has been called into police headquarters by the mayor's office. It seems over a hundred dead "workers" have gone missing and the Mayor fears they will be released as an act of domestic terrorism to influence the upcoming election. Sheppard is on the case, but as usual there is more to the missing workers than meets the eye. Can he find the workers in time? Can he bring the culprit to justice? Is it a coincidence that the mayor chose to send Emma, an ex-lover, as his liaison? Can he help two rookies solve a murder in his spare time? But most important of all, can he keep his hands off the redheaded secretary that's decided to help him in his investigation?
