Deviation. A departure, a divergence away from all things normally accepted. To deviate from something is to go in a way not according to what would be expected. This collection of stories may disturb or confuse us. Possibly. Hopefully. (That is the intention). In ordinary situations common to us all, we tend to become accustomed to particular routines. We know what to expect based on past histories of similar events. What if things changed? What if the surreal became reality? Most days our lives are simple, habitual patterns of reoccurring events. We become comfortable. Maybe even bored. Stop and think—we are rarely if ever, terrified. We are never frightened to the point of screaming. But... what if we were? What if outcomes from random choices that we make were unpredictable? What if things spiraled out of control into the abstract? What if quiet boredom was the deviation, and horror was what was to be expected? What if...?
