Then it stopped. “Hello?” I called out nervously. I came to a stop and strained to make out even the slightest sight or sound. The silence was deafening. I could feel my heart pounding and my breath came out in pants. I stood there for what felt like an eternity, when in reality it was only a couple of minutes. I took a deep breath, but before I could release it, she was right there. “She’s right behind you.” She whispered. A twig snapped. My blood ran cold. Before I could turn around, I felt two hands shove me hard from behind. What was once solid ground beneath my feet, morphed into air, and I went barreling over the side of the cliff.
