Oakland, Louisiana a southern town with a midwestern feel; a town full of families, jobs and a lot of charm. Vanessa Bessette is a young seventeen year old girl, pretty, popular and yearning for life outside of her hometown and ready to be living out her dreams and exploring the world. Miles Jones is in her class and finds himself bullied constantly at school and his relationship with his father is like a plane without a pilot and he too wants to escape. The typical things, right?
