The world is not what it once seemed, or perhaps it is that my sanity has left me. The only magic I believed in was the gentle touch of my wife and the infectious laugh of my daughter, but ghosts and creatures beyond understanding have made their existence known. Gone now are the days when all I had to worry about was paying the rent and putting food on the table. When a malicious spirit possessed a young man, it came after my family to seek revenge. I stood to bar its way. I have had many visions of our battle for survival. The different endings were less than ideal. Who am I? My name is Nathan Alexander Embers. I was just a regular guy trying to build a happy life for his family. When the horror attacked, I had to tap into abilities I never remembered having and try to win the day. I have heard a man must be strong, but my failure was I had doubts. Then the love of my family gave me the strength to stand and fight even though the outcome appeared to be grim. My only weapons were my mind, a gun gifted to me, an unnamed sword of my forging, and a snarky sense of humor.
