Maria lies down in her bed waiting for sleep to bring her the escape she longs for from the living world. Maria's spirit friend, Emily, joins her in her dreams. Tonight she welcomes Emily. Tonight Maria begins her dream seeing Emily sitting on an old fallen tree in the forest. The grass is green and lush while the sun shines as it continues to give life. Sensing Emily is sad, Maria approaches her friend. Maria places her hand on Emily's shoulder while asking what is wrong. Emily continues to look down. Maria's attention shifts to the sky as a strong gust of wind nearly blowing her over. She looks to her friend Emily to ensure she is alright. The sun is gone and so is Emily.
