The Darkness will get you. Little David Hazard has disappeared from his mother's home. If that isn't horrendous enough, Celia Hazard begins to suspect something evil is stalking her in the Hazard house ... a terrible presence that is frightening her to death. She seeks the assistance of her local priest, and Fr. William Brill vanishes from the house as they investigate. Fr. Patrick Stone has sent his friend to this fate on a seeming mission of mercy. And now he wants to know what happened. "The Darkness" takes an unconventional approach to storytelling by utilizing the same characters introduced in the traditional mystery "Crucifixion" (although both novels can be read separately) and placing them in a ghostly horror story ... where they attempt to use ordinary detective principles -- until they understand they are not dealing with something ordinary ... or someone human.
