Overview

In a land threatened to be overrun by preternatural beasts and flying monstrosities, mankind yet manages to thrive. It’s a mankind that includes individuals with magical Abilities, who can heal the dying and raise the dead, send their spirits into the future, and talk with wolves. Yet those few hide their Abilities, for to have an Ability is punishable by death. This is a story about a young girl who decides she wants to become a heroic warrior in a world fast filling with macabre monsters and creatures of myth – yet she soon finds that it’s not the monsters she need fear the most. This is a story about an axeman who is never taken seriously, who in truth does not take life seriously, yet must become a leader of men. And this is a story about a farmer forced to leave home on an impossible quest, with no allies and no one to love him, until, that is, he meets a young girl and a formidable axeman. And he discovers that he is at the heart of a prophecy he didn’t even know existed. The prophecy means that he must give up his personal quest that means everything to him; he must learn to love again; and then, most cruelly of all, he must choose between himself and his two new friends which one of them should die. This is a story of the Three, and how their lives intertwine – at least for now. After all, the prophecy states that one of them will die...
