Overview
This anthology contains twenty short stories based on song titles of the band Duran Duran. It includes both Distorted Visions and Distorted Visions: The Killing Jar together for the first time in a single collection. When we hear certain songs and bands, we start to build a rapport with them, and we become fans. Some of these connections are short-lived, while others can last an entire lifetime. Music can take us to places that we have never been before. The lyrics can also allow us to create images within our minds as we interpret the songs within our heads. Contained within this book are short horror stories derived from titles of songs from my favourite band. None relate to the lyrical content of the songs, but I allowed the song titles to form images that I could add a unique twist. There are tales of future computer horrors, time travel, creatures that were hidden away from mankind to stories of loss and revenge. From a young woman leading a children's crusade, to a darkly messianic figure lying in a hospital bed. From a vampiric child stalking the shadows to a creature who must find new human shells if it wants to survive, these stories offer a bit of something for all horror tastes. One of the stories even features a surprise appearance of a well-known monster from the past. Providing tantalizing peeks into these nightmares, these tales leave the reader feeling hungry (like the wolf?) for more.
