MYSTERY PARANORMAL ARCHAEOLOGY SUSPENSE. An old flame is rekindled, but is she who she says she is? Seven years after his breakup with Selene Astarte, archaeologist Jake Lalonde is hired to remove a totem figure of an ancient cannibal witch from her Vancouver Island ranch. When an unconscious girl is found in the crate in place of the totem pole, Jake is suspected of kidnapping. Amidst strange sightings of Bigfoot in the forest, Jake must prove his innocence. But the motive is stranger than he knows, and in a supernatural turn of events, the case gets disturbingly personal. After two more children go missing from the nearby town of Port Hardy, Jake suspects that the local police detective, his former lover Selene and her Native ranch hand know more than they're telling— And that the truth has something to do with the cannibal witch and the lost totem pole. Jake Lalonde gets the first clues to his cryptic Haida heritage when the abduction of children from a small Vancouver Island town brings the myth of an ancient cannibal demon to life. So begins Jake’s adventures as he sets out to search for the origins of his family's totem crest.
