CLOWN FRIDAY: the week ends in blood! Journalist Clive White is sent to cover Marlowe’s annual carnival Clown Friday: an easy and straight forward assignment. But, as he interviews the locals, and as he uncovers the true history and nature of the town and its carnival, it becomes clear that there is something very wrong in Marlowe. Jane Brennan, also a journalist and Clive White’s lover, was once a resident of Marlowe. She knows the town and the ways of small town folk. And she knows that the festival is not a carnival of joy and revelry but a circus of fear and a carnival of blood. Together Jane and Clive are gripped by a journey into horror. Survival will depend upon the choice of paths in a mirror maze, or the slice of an evil jester’s axe. And while there is an article to be written and a story to be told, they realise that the story is a dark one. It is the story of something ancient, vile, and evil, something that lusts after spilled blood and human flesh. It is a story of horror that the town of Marlowe has been waiting centuries to be told.
