Overview

Some time ago, a homely girl was visited by a Reaper who gave her a magical lotion that made her beautiful. Her life changes to the extreme: she gets attention from men, other women want to be friends, and she stumbles upon the connections that make her a Victoria's Secret model. This sudden rise to fame and fortune has a profound effect on her sister Lily, who is still an ugly duckling and is constantly harassed by bullies at school. The bullying gets so bad that she attempts to take her own life. In order to ease her sister's pain, the protagonist gives her the lotion that seems to enhance beauty. This act attracts the Reaper once again, who whisks her away to a fantasy world called The Academy of Muses. At first, it's a dream world filled with pretty people and seems like heaven. However, when our heroine starts asking questions, she finds that the academy harbors a dark secret. This short tale is told in 5,000 words; each of which tug at a thread to reveal an insidious secret. It contains topics such as achieving fame and fortune, a family member's suicide attempt, and conspiracy theories that lead down a spiral staircase to get to the bottom of a thick mystery. Read book 1 in The Beauty Mark series, where an obese woman encounters a Reaper and is given a magic lotion that makes her skinny overnight! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FTTV7C
