It was the same as what Tom had ordered—coffee, sandwich and some fries with ketchup sauce. He dived in as soon as the meal got to the table.The conversation was whispery. Rebecca managed to make out a few things they were talking about—they used the term: ‘the boy’ to refer to someone and the term “it” to refer to something. Both seemed to know this boy, but the fellow in shades was confident that he had something under control regarding the boy.“Just hang in there,” the guy in shades said as he ate, prodding, holding a fry in wait for a swallow so he could complete his statement, “this will all be over when we finally get our hands on it.” He continued.“I’m trying to hang in,” Tom replied, “but this is messed up, I can’t do this for too long.
