Whether or not that will be to further serve Lord Jossune of Danneth, Lord Ryall of Callarvene, or to simply follow his own path is what now lies before the leader of the Kindred of the Lost. Meanwhile, Hayden continues his path into the Rot, moving toward the North Castle, in search for a book that will guide him to the lost gift of Wisdom. Yet while his fate remains a constant unknown, the witch must move with him now, hidden inside one of his traveling companions. Because in order for her to fight back against the Rot, she must claim this lost gift for herself. But nothing is happening exactly as planned for the witch, as they all discover that the future was never something so easily seen, and the end of the world will not be such a simple thing to combat.
