The story opens with a lone female driving along the narrow forest road to spend a quiet week at the secluded Hotel - she never arrives.As other guests arrive, some are struck by feelings of foreboding by the atmosphere that surrounds Mount Sheba and these feelings are not assuaged by the nervous hotel barman's warnings of strange happenings in the area.When one of the barman's audience disappears on a forest walk with her husband a search party is formed and finds her badly mutilated body. This was no ordinary murder as the remaining hotel guests soon find out.
