Emma has recently survived a deadly bout with cancer, and her husband Jack takes her to the megachurch of the great Reverend Dietz, who Emma claims as her personal savior. But Dietz is the shadowy servant of an evil master and soon Emma and Jack find themselves worlds away in a strange hotel facing an unholy presence. This short story introduces the reader to characters of William Sayer’s debut novel, From Behind the Veil.
