Sharp Teeth: Terrifying Tales of Seabury Seventh Graders 💀 scary.co

This isn’t some off the cuff attempt at using jump scares to get you. No, this is the slow burn of horror, the kind that creeps, created from the devious minds of Seabury's own seventh graders. Over the first part of this year, 2021, (a perfect horror year if you ask me), the authors took a deep dive into another horror anthology, Unnatural Creatures, edited by Neil Gaiman. Although that book’s stories spanned decades and topics, they all were unified by supernatural and horror elements.The tales in this book all plunge to the depths of our fragile human psyche. You might find a character you thought was real, isn’t, hinting at the flimsy reality we all tell ourselves we think we know. A fear of water can turn into a bottomless well or what lives at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool. A fear of false friends manifests in all types of danger. Whatever the plot, the writers examined human nature and what terrifies us as different people. At the core of every story is a basic fear, one that the authors wrapped their style, characters, and plot around. It’s this core that you have to look out for. Each tale exposes a primordial fear skulking in the dark and deep shadows of our souls, something that haunts us, something that must be exposed. Dare to read these stories and confront what lurks in the recesses of our minds and you just might walk out stronger. Then again, these fears have a way of digging in with their sharp talons and might not ever get out again.
