Overview
Vance and Dexter are a detective duo with a penchant for the supernatural. When a young newly-wedded man approaches them for help, they are thrown into a mystery involving a vampiric curse related to his wife and her ancestral castle in Scotland. Alice Askew (1874 – 1917) and her husband Claude Askew ( 1865 – 1917) were British authors who wrote more than ninety novels together, most of which were published in sixpenny and sevenpenny series from 1904 to 1918. Other notable works by these authors include: “The Shulamite” (1904), “The Plains of Silence” (1907), and “Lucy Gort: A Study in Temperament” (1907). Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new biography of the author.
