Harden, Utah, was a friendly little town, but that was before the nightmares began, before the creaure made itself known. Independence Day is the story of Marci, a young woman who keeps to herself so she won't be ridiculed because of her excess weight. This works for her until she finds herself in the middle of a horrific crisis. Because of this crisis, she is thrown together with a young man, Hank, who is able to draw her out of her self-imposed cocoon and teach her how wonderful life and love can be.Along the way, the two are also connected with a dedicated and hard-working local detective, Gerald Dawson.
