Overview

This week we’ve got the continuation of the Dream-Quest, where Carter and his ghoul and night-gaunt cohorts encounter moon beasts and almost-humans amidst the ruins of Sarkomand; the beginning of Darklight by Nathan Rowark, where Phillip and his student housemates experience mysterious technical problems, in a prequel to another story that will be published in the Red Skies Press Anthology Techno-Goth Cthulhu; and the return of Todd Nelsen in The Hit. In The Glass Candle, by Trevor Patterson, Joseph listens to the stories of the dead; and another story by James Rhodes tells us of The Lost Soul. There’s another installment of ongoing saga of Ayame’s Love; more fiction from Rob Bliss; the conclusion of Michael Bray’s zombie tale, That Gnawing Feeling; and the beginning of John Douglas Hoyland’s sci-fi story, The Initiation of Lantos, where the lonely Lantos confesses his loneliness to Pod. Plus the continuation of Varney the Vampyre and After London. Also this week, we announce the Schlock! Anthology Writing Competition. The winners of the competition will see their work published in the next Schlock! Anthology, Timeless Worlds, publication date tentatively scheduled for August / September. We’re looking for short stories in the genres of science fiction, fantasy and/or horror. Word count: anywhere up to 7500 words. The winning entries will be published alongside the cream of the crop of the last six months’ editions, and winners will receive free copies of the anthology, and will be able to purchase more copies at a discount. Final date for entries is 15 July. Send stories to [email protected] with “COMPETITION” in the subject box.
