Heather's fortune-telling booth was the big hit of the Halloween carnival put on by her sixth-grade class. And it was all due to the strange device the old raggedy man had left on her doorstep. Now people were lining up in droves, eager to have their futures foretold by the little girl with the pendulum swinging eerily under its own power, back and forth... and back and forth...For most, the pendulum predicted good things... births, trips, success...
