She has published poems and serialized fiction, and is a proud member of both the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society and Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society. This project is the culmination of her work in those degree programs, and her magnum opus. Near the end of her studies, Catlin was diagnosed with breast cancer that then metastasized to her brain and spinal fluid. Her ultimate goals in life were to be the first in her immediate family to earn a Master’s degree, and to see this book through to completion. Because of her perseverance, both of these goals have now been realized.
