IMPORTANT: this paperback has been unpublishedThree horror stories set within the same world, all dealing – in one way or another – with strangers and the fear of the unknown. Expect twists, turns and surprise endings. Just read the look inside feature and see for yourself...STORY 1 - THE BLIZZARD:Stranded in the middle of nowhereTrapped by a snowstormForced to wait it out till rescue arrivesThen, the night takes a deadly turn. Two strangers struggle to survive the worst blizzard since the winter of ‘62, their plight made ever harder by a new arrival and some dark revelations.STORY 2 - FOREST OF HORRORS:Rolling hills. Meandering streams. Endless woodland. But not all is as it seems.A bereaved family travel to Scotland to scatter their mother’s ashes. Hers, however, may not be the only ones to be scattered. Horrors – both twisted and surreal – take place within the grounds of this idyllic forest resort; a resort in the middle of nowhere; a place where no one can hear you scream.STORY 3 - THE FARM:A family are tested when a stranger with a dark agenda comes into their lives. The Jackson’s stumble across an old working farm. There they find a young and handsome stranger who takes them in. Before long, however, their lives begin to fall apart as they struggle to hold onto reality – and each other – inevitably descending into a deep, dark pool of madness, depression and worst of all… insanity.ANNOUNCEMENT:I started this book way back in 2017 when I was still cutting my teeth as a writer (certainly as a novelist). It was invaluable experience and I am very glad that I wrote it. It helped shape me into the writer that I am today. The way I wrote changed with these early books. However, I would like to believe that I have developed as a writer in the last four years. Now this book – while being a huge learning curve, etc. – somewhat embarrasses me. I am not ashamed of it. But I have gone through it so many times now, to fix it and to make it read better, that it now looks like Frankenstein’s monster. And not in the good way. It is a disjointed mess. A mess that I loved making, yes, but an embarrassing mess nonetheless. This is why I have unpublished this book, along with four others.Maybe one day – probably when I have long ran out of new ideas – I will go through them, edit them, professionally proofread them, etc. And then republish. In truth, I will more than likely turn them back into screenplays – as they originally were. Two books survived the chop: THE BLIZZARD and DEAD LINE. The Blizzard was my second book (and most successful with the critics – 4 ½ stars). And Dead Line is my latest work. The HORROR OF HORRORS series has replaced the STRANGERS series. I will be doing an updated edition of The Blizzard. That and Dead Line will be two books in a six-book volume – the other books being: The Skivers, Wood for the Trees, The Corridor Kid, and Intruder. The Skivers and Wood for the Trees will be out for individual release in late 2021/early 2022, and the first volume of Horror of Horrors will be out in Feb/Mar 2022. So keep an eye out. And follow my Amazon page. Why is this paperback still up? I hear you ask. Well, to put it as simply as I can: Amazon, in all there wisdom, will only allow me to fully unpublish the eBook versions – something to do with third-party sellers. So the change in description and cover design (and the up in price) is to stop you from buying a book that is, in my humble opinion as the writer, simply not good enough. Want a book to read that is? Good. Go on my Amazon page. All the best,Ross Lynch.
