As their lives implode, a journalist and a bartender find themselves on the run from the federal government. Having stopped at a bar for a beer and a bite, they apprehensively work their way into Kentucky, and further towards consequence. Many hazards are encountered on this near-psychedelic road-trip; slow-moving traffic, by-the-hour hotels, and the clergy. The pair work together to tackle the challenges as they arise—despite deepening paranoia and middling talent. With a little luck, and no sense of direction, they progress all the way, to the end of the road.
