Overview

Inspired by the horror fiction of Stephen King and Junji Ito, the worldbuilding of Patrick Rothfuss and Andrzej Sapkowski, and the character development present in Hunter x Hunter and Berserk, the Angelos Odyssey Saga is a cyberpunk fantasy series centered around Tavon Meiziki. Tavon is an assassin who works for the Angelos Association as well as what is considered an "Awakened human." Humans have evolved within the post-apocalyptic setting of the story to possess unique abilities, but Tavon relies only on his strength to guide himself. Through multiple perspectives, the world of Angelos Odyssey is built piece by piece, but Tavon ties each narrative arc together in his journey to become an official Death Officer in the Angelos Association. In addition to frenzied battle scenes, every combat scenario involves rapid, tactical decisions that can dramatically alter the course of a fight. Fundamentally, Tavon is a martial artist who has chosen a dark path, and, along this path, we're with him as he both faces trauma and listens to the traumas endured by others. Angelos Odyssey is largely experimental, with notes taken from Bret Easton Ellis, Albert Camus, and Fyodor Dostoyevsky in terms of introspection as well as the use of complex characters. Moreover, the first three books represent one massive story arc, and each volume reveals how Tavon came to be who he is today. Becoming a Death Officer means receiving a stipend and traveling the world to track down insurmountable opponents. This is a story about conquering the insurmountable.
