Blowing out your 13 candles on your birthday cake is no longer safe... This is a story of a foster-cared child by the name, Antuna Miller. The city of Philadelphia removed her from her fourteen year old mother. She lost her temper, and hit Antuna across the face with a broomstick, scarring her for life. Emotionally and physically. Her grandparents refused her; giving her to the state of Pennsylvania. For 10 years, she has been jumping from home to home. When finally, she falls deeply in love with Allen family. Mr. and Mrs. Allen, and their ten year old son Toby, treated her like part of their family. While helping Mrs. Allen with breakfast, she began to feel light-headed. She couldn't breathe. The more she tried to catch her breath, the more her airways closed up, causing her to pass out. Antuna awakes to find herself in the hospital, with a doctor hovering over her face. The words "welcome back" frightened her. But the most terrifying words she heard were, "you will not be returning home; you are going to live with another family." Sabrina, a lingering spirit, helps Antuna overcome her sadness. She becomes her friend. A friend that only she could see and hear. Of course, every deed has its price. Sabrina wants her to help her fill in the missing pieces of death, so she may rest in peace. Is it peace that brought Sabrina back? Or is it the desire of life?
