At 13 my troubles consisted of football, girls, and passing history. At 14, parents; dead, demons; either want to kill me, eat me, or use my new found power, I never knew existed, (sometimes a combination of all three); my troubles were a little more than passing exams. And how did I cope with this new order? Not well is an understatement, but ending up in a mental asylum was not part of my plan. Being plain crazy would solve all my problems, but no, I couldn't have just been losing my mind; life wouldn't let me off that easily. It’s true that you can only live once. But I've died far many more times, in far many more ways than humanely possible. Am I still living? That’s one hell of a question. At times I think I’m not, at times I’m so dead, that I’m surprised my heart still beats. I remember that day, the day my life fell apart and the world I knew as reality crumbled before my eyes, the night of the fire, the night they died. It is cruel that I survived, but destiny always has a way of bitch slapping you around the face. Most people know their plans; go to school, college, meet the girl of your dreams, fall in love, get married, have kids, grow old and finally, die, something I never thought I’d wish upon. My plan was the same as any other, my mundane, monotone plan. But damn, I had to mess it up didn't I? One bad joke, one stupid mistake, one great inferno, that changed my life forever, and not for the better. Death became my reliable companion, one that walked beside me no matter where I went. Death should have been my escape, it should have been easy, one slip of the knife, or tie of a knot and rope around the neck… But I begin to realize nothing is easy.
