Indeed, it was now time for them to become known for what they had been destined to be – service industry representatives.To be representatives, they had to reverse the secretive nature that they had been forced to don as they had prepared their safe haven, and their entire organization – The Union – had to be reorganized.Every time there is a reorganization, someone gets displaced. Sometimes, they accept that and sometimes they don't.And there are always those who don't.When The Union restructured the way they did things, there were those who resented the fact that they were no longer in positions of authority, no longer able to direct events.Few let go of authority easily and this was true of the djinns who were moved aside, displaced, superseded – subjected to that reorganization.Like many a mortal group, they came together in an attempt to exert their former influence. And, like many a mortal group, they did so clandestinely.Unfortunately, like those groups, they had failed to exert as much influence as they desired and this had not sat well with them. So they, like others, changed from subtle influence to overt, from benign to malevolent – slowly, but inevitably.Benign influences may go unnoticed, but overt and malevolent do not.This is what Just was experiencing, overt attempts to get him moved aside, to reduce his abilities to interfere with those that he was slowly becoming aware of.They had implied and now they threatened. They had intimidated, now they used force. He couldn't afford to wait for the next level.Unfortunately, he had people in his own organization who weren't all that hard to convince that he was a loose and dangerous cannon in need of disarming.If disarmed, all of Djinndom might be at risk. If disarmed, he certainly would be.All he had to do was convince his sister that he was trustworthy, and that seemed like something much harder to do than he had supposed.All because truth will tell – and it was telling on Just.
