Continuing deeper into Aldwick, they reach the town of Karminrot, a railway town in the grip of a band of ethereal Tragedians, who each year steal a townsperson to be one of their number. When the party finds themselves pitted against the Tragedians, loyalties will be tested, as the Tragedians approach one of their number with an intriguing and tempting offer. Meanwhile, the Inquisition, led by Brandiles, is getting steadily closer.
