Althena, the leader of the Coven, has worked hard to suppress her dark past after the murder of her husband and daughter at the hands of abominations created by an evil witch. The Council has uncovered the truth behind the evil witch, Brenna's, dark past and learned she is the creator of all vampires and werewolves, including the original vampires that slaughtered Althena's family, and wiped out the entire village save for the twelve women that now make up the Coven. Althena must tap into her dark powers in order to defeat the evil witch, and it is up to the Council, the Coven, and the newly resurrected Kennan to bring her back before the dark magic she has suppressed for so long threatens to consume her.
