Overview
These stories were all achieved with minimal editing. This was done in the effort to stay true to the author, who has passed away. We did not want to alter the way he wrote, or spoke, without his permission. Bill Buxton was born in 1933. He lived a normal childhood with his parents in Lynn, Massachusetts. He was in the Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1956 he met, and married, the woman to whom he would remain with for 49 years, until his death. In 1962 his only child, a daughter, was born. He was a hard worker, a good husband and father, and had a passion for reading. What was not known, until recently, was he also had an interest in writing. He passed away in 2005, only having allowed his wife and daughter the pleasure of reading one of his writings. When his widow recently was cleaning out drawers and boxes, she came across a box of his manuscripts. She did not read them but asked if we would take a look at them. These are but a small sampling of what that box contained. What these three stories convey could be called chilling. He was a man who always had a way of seeing “memory images”, as he called them. He would “catch a glimpse” of things that had happened years ago. His family knew of this ability, but did not know of his capability to see into the future. “The Dupe”, one of the stories in this book, will allow the reader to see that capacity first hand. Please remember that all three of these stories were written in 1980, or earlier. The past, although eerie sometimes, is just that, the past. What makes this book so engaging is the accuracy in which the author was able to see thirty years into the future!
