Chilly Willy Pantilly is a series of horror books created by Kalico Katz. Kalico has always enjoyed being frightened as well as experiencing the exhilarating experience of frightening others. The series promises to reveal all of the secrets to some of the very popular scary stories that you have been told like the infamous boogeyman. There are all those creatures that go bump in the night, lurk under your bed or in your closets, await you in your basements and attics. Your parents and others tell you that it is all part of your imagination and that there is no such thing as monsters but…they are wrong! You know that they are wrong. Chilly Willy Pantilly is a series narrated by a young girl, Gabriella who is five. The entire series is told from her perspective. She has a very close friend and cousin Rocco who is four. He embarks on all of her scary adventures with her. The two cousins frequently go to their Nana and Papa’s home which is way, far out in the country. There is a very large forest filled with wild beasts like coyote, owls, raccoons and sometimes wolves. There is an orchard filled with good things to eat, a barn and pastures that are home to alpaca and all sorts of fun things to do including being able to drive all over in their very own cars and trucks that their Nana keeps for them. Max is their furry Uncle who likes to come on all of their adventures with them. He is an Airedale terrier and Nana’s son. They have an eccentric Aunt Isabella who usually comes to stay with them when they are there. She is full of all sorts of knowledge about all sorts of things including some very scary things. She is the one who delights in telling the two cousins all of the forbidden stories and she is very good at it to. If you are brave and think that you can take it, be able to sleep at night without the lights on and be willing to walk around your house without someone being with you than we dare you to read these tales. All of those monsters that you know are there, well, they are there. They are very, very real!
