The Frontier, a pitiless place infested with monsters. Linus Roanhorse, a disillusioned veteran of the Great War that devastated many Old World nations. For all its horrors and dangers, the Frontier is a new start for many people seeking to leave behind the scars of the Old World. But the peace that Linus hoped does not last. Monster hordes are ravaging the Frontier Towns. Overrunning them. Massacring everyone. People are running, fleeing the hordes. Hardy settlers turned refugees. Linus has to survive the hordes, but he isn’t in it just for himself. There are other refugees, other people that need protecting, rescuing, and its up to him and what allies he can muster to defend those that remain. The fortress city of Timur is their only hope, but the monsters aren’t mindless creatures anymore. Something is controlling them, organizing them, guiding them with an intelligence vast and terrible.
