Kai rubbed his eyes. The vision of Noelle burned in his memory. It wasn’t the first time he’d seen her face. Her hazel eyes and full lips had haunted him ever since he could remember. He didn’t know what her connection to him was, but tonight’s vision of her was his fourth in the past few weeks. Each time it was a little different. The only thing that didn’t change was how he felt about her. He had to find her—to be with her. He asked himself, is this how love feels? How could I love you when I don't even know you? All he knew was that he felt complete when he was with her in his dreams, and loneliness when he awoke. He was certain they were destined to be together and was stunned when they crashed into each other in the fun zone at the pier. Archangel Raphael watched the commotion between Kai and Noelle from another booth across the way. The long-awaited connection had been made. He viewed the immediate area and not sensing any danger, he left to see Faith. He didn’t notice the young man staring at the couple from a seat at the top of the Ferris wheel. Sneering, the teen leaned forward and leered at the couple. Damn! The light… the connection! He shook his head. His face contorted as his body began twisting and turning. He screeched, but no one seemed to hear him. Horns began to form out of the sides of his head and black wings sprouted from his back. With a whoosh, he flew a few feet in the air, his gaze still fixed on Noelle and Kai. “And so it begins,” he hissed to himself, leaving to inform his master. Kai never imagined that meeting her could lead him into a fall from grace.
