Overview
Turning to fiction late in life, Stoker published his first novel, The Snake’s Pass, a romantic thriller with a bleak western Ireland setting. The novel is written chiefly in the form of diaries and journals kept by the principal characters: Jonathan Harker, who made the first contact with the vampire Count Dracula; Wilhelmina (“Mina”) Harker (née Murray), Jonathan’s eventual wife; Dr. John (“Jack”) Seward, a psychiatrist and sanatorium administrator; and Lucy Westenra, Mina’s friend and a victim of Dracula who herself becomes a vampire. The story is that of a Transylvanian vampire who, using supernatural powers, makes his way to England and there victimizes innocent people to gain the blood on which he survives. This classic title is proudly offered as part of our extensive classic book collection.Classical literature introduces us to new cultures and historical perspectives while providing us with a unique literary experience.Reading classic literature has many advantages, one of which is the enriching experience it provides. These literary masterpieces are known for providing fresh perspectives on life, love, and thoughts, as well as timeless wisdom.Classics are a part of human history and legacy.Their wisdom, perspective, and expressions have stood the test of time and are still relevant today. One of the most significant advantages of reading classics is that it allows you to interact with the greatest works of the greatest minds. Our publishing programme aims to make this vast reservoir of literature and human cultural heritage more accessible.
