A lot of the characters in TDotW appear in this story who might not have gotten the spotlight, so I wanted to shine a light on those characters a little bit more.Q. As an African American author, what do you feel you need to bring to the genre of science fiction?I feel that great sci-fi doesn't need to be race-centered just because the author might be a minority. Compelling tales can be told no matter the race, and I want to make that clear with my fiction.Q.
