Dr. Jonas Allen has been with the Center for Disease Control almost sixteen years. For most of his career, he's been "in the trenches." In 1997, he was in Zaire, investigating a monkey pox outbreak. He assisted investigators at the World Health Organization during the Uganda Ebola outbreak of 2000. He has studied West Nile, SARS, and H1N1, and he was even on-site after the Haitian earthquake of 2010. Jonas has been a firsthand witness to countless medical emergencies, any one of which could have spelled disaster for humanity. Each time, mankind dodged the fatal bullet-until now. Nothing could have prepared Jonas and his team for the nightmare that is about to unfold. People start exhibiting symptoms of violent psychosis. They cannot escape madness, and neither can the people around them. Deep within the infected minds of these victims, two organisms struggle to survive, and Jonas must race against time to identify the culprits and stop a rage pandemic. Atlanta is under siege.
