Africa is rife with myths of skin changers: legends of were-creatures and supernatural marauders.” A flush came over the aristocrat as he spoke, his blood rising to match his fervor. Tžaryd was caught up in the man’s argument now and his pulse quickened also. He knew this other man to be more than he appeared. There was something dangerous, rapacious about his demeanor. But he was guest and must see this drama played out. “That would be the ultimate competition, would it not? Two Super Predators: one, a man born of nature, the other man; paranormal. Who would win?” Count Dracula glared at the ape man daring him to oppose the thought. Tžaryd nodded his head. “Indeed. Who would be the victor?” He was tempted by the appeal of the challenge. And the gleam in the Count’s eyes would not be denied. “Both hunter and hunted. Why, I would even give you the advantage of… How do they say it? Ah, I would give you ‘Home Field’ advantage. We could slip into the steamy jungle that surrounds us and carry out our sport: live or perish, succeed or fail, unseen by the eyes of man. Life and Death held in your hands! If no one ever saw us again the world would not be the poorer for it. What say you, Lord Willemsen?”
