Overview
Paul Sheldon was heartily sick of Misery Chastain, even though she'd brought him money and fame. So he killed her - in his last Misery Chastain novel Misery's Child. Regaining consciousness from an accident which leaves his legs smashed, he finds himself being cared for by ex-nurse Annie Wilkes, who had pulled him from the wreck of his car. Annie happens to be his Number One Fan, until she reads Misery's Child. And she is not happy. She buys him a typewriter and paper, and tells him to resurrect Misery. And who can argue, when she's holding all the cards - not to mention the drugs, the axe and the blowtorch...
