In the magical kingdom of Kalset, a person's eye color holds great power and determines their place in society. Shakka is born with the fabled red eyes, which mark him as a potentially dangerous and powerful individual. His parents go to great lengths to hide his true identity, casting a spell to change his eye color and raising him as a poor, magic-less farmer. As Shakka approaches his coming of age trials, he begins to suspect that his simple farm life is about to change forever.
