A Record of an Evil-suppressing Mirror Wang obtains from a mysterious man a mirror said to be able to suppress evil spirits. With the help of the mirror, Wang forces two evil spirits to transform back to their forms of an old fox and a serpent. The mirror also helps thwarting an epidemic. Later, carrying the mirror on his journey, Wang’s brother has also eliminated many evil spirits. After Wang’s brother returns the mirror to Wang, the mirror… A White Ape After his gorgeous wife is snatched away, General Ouyang intends to find her. After climbing to a mountain top, he and his soldiers meets his wife among several beautiful women taken by a white ape which seems to be a spirit. With their familiarity with the weak spots of the ape, the women have discussed a plan with General Ouyang to kill the ape spirit. Could they succeed in their plan? What’s the real identity of the ape spirit? An Eloping Soul Seeing Lady Qian and Wang in love with each other since they are children, Lady Qian’s father, Zhang, often say that he will marry her to Wang. After they grow up, Zhang betroths Lady Qian to someone else. Lady Qian falls ill while Wang leaves her to somewhere else. In the middle of the night, in his boat about to depart, Wang is caught up by Lady Qian. Together they travel to the land of Shu where they live for five years and produce two children. After he enters a dream, the scholar marries a beautiful wife, passes the imperial examination at the highest level and serves with a position as high as a prime minister and a duke…What’s the end for the life of the scholar? Could he get enlightenment for such a revealing dream? Lady Ren a Fox Spirit After he is entertained by a beautiful lady in a magnificent building, Zheng is told that the building has long been deserted and he has possibly encountered a fox spirt. With his budding love for her, Zheng meets her again and they start a co-habitation relationship with furniture borrowed from Wei, a relative of Zheng. Coveting her beauty, Wei tries to make out with her but is refused by her with a witty and righteous speech. A genuine friendship is developed between Wei and Lady Ren. With her magic arts, she helps bringing beautiful women for Wei and a great fortune for Zheng. However, as they get well along with each other, none of them sees a fatal disaster looming over Lady Ren…
