Overview

Dana’s first day on the job as a Park Ranger takes an interesting turn that changes the course of her life. Believing the Park is home to an elusive Blue-Tailed possum, she wants nothing more than to prove its existence to stop further deforestation by a greedy logger named Jackson Morrissey. Her plans fall by the wayside when instead of the possum, she captures the enigmatic Oberon. Enamored by him and unaware of his powers of influence, Dana takes him from the forest, hoping he’s just what she needs to stop Morrissey. When Dana turns to her estranged sister Joy, she demands Dana take Oberon back to the forest where he belongs. But Dana’s unwilling to give up the defenseless being as she grows to love him. Dana feels he’s just the family she needs and decides she could never use him as a tool to save the forest. Through Joy, Dana learns Oberon is a Sasci, an ancient being thought only to exist in folklore. Dana realizes Joy’s knowledge of the Sasci extends well beyond the casual when she meets Jaylon, a fierce Sasci warrior and Joy’s clandestine lover. Jaylon informs Dana of Oberon’s heritage and urges her to return him to the forest as his family will stop at nothing to get him back. Dana reluctantly agrees to let Oberon go. Her plans to release him fail, though, when Morrissey kidnaps him in a desperate attempt to blackmail the Sasci for personal gain. Thinking they have a common goal to get Oberon back, Dana meets Otto, Oberon’s uncle, and Sasci clan leader. When Otto discovers that Morrissey has taken his nephew, he struggles to keep his Sasci side in check, and his powers of influence go awry around Dana. Now, Otto must prevent himself and his brother, Oberon’s father, from harming Dana and find Morrissey before it’s too late, all while battling with the fact he’s falling in love with the human. When human and Sasci worlds collide, a new family forms, and together they’ll fight Morrissey to win.
